Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, born in Monrovia, Liberia, in 1938. She is Africa's first elected female president.
She served as the Minister of Finance in Liberia during the 1970s and as the Director of the United Nations Development Programme's Regional Bureau for Africa from 1992 to 1997.
From 2006 to 2018, she served two terms as the President of Liberia, leading the nation out of years of civil war and achieving economic recovery and social reconstruction. For her exceptional contributions to promoting democracy, women's empowerment, and economic reforms, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2011.
President Serlyf, during her term, has dedicated herself to anti-corruption, promoting good governance, and advancing reforms in education and healthcare.
