

Bruno Oberle
Chair of the World Resources Forum
Bruno Oberle, born in 1955 in Switzerland, is a leading figure in sustainable resource management and the green economy. He is currently the Chair of the World Resources Forum and previously served as the Director-General of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
From 2005 to 2015, Oberle was the Swiss State Secretary for the Environment and Director of the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment, where he played a key role in international negotiations and led global environmental funds. His work emphasizes the balance between economic development and environmental protection, making significant contributions to international environmental policy and sustainable development.
Previously, Dr. Oberle also served as the Chair of the Green Economy and Resource Governance Program at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) and as the Director of the International Risk Governance Center. Currently, he is the Chair of the World Resources Forum. His work focuses on transforming society to generate more value from fewer resources.
