Co-founders of the Masdar Initiative

Ziad Tassabehji is one of the co-founders of the Masdar Initiative, the world's first zero-carbon, zero-waste urban development project. Born in 1964 in Lebanon, he has been actively involved in the renewable energy and sustainable development sectors since moving to the UAE in 1987. Tassabehji is a leading expert in green new energy in the Middle East and currently serves as the founder and CEO of Green Wave Group and chairman of Solaris.

With over 25 years of experience as an executive in multinational enterprises, he has led the development of forward-thinking projects, creating winning strategies, securing funding, and generating shareholder value. The Abu Dhabi Masdar Initiative, which he helped initiate, aims to diversify Abu Dhabi's economy through renewable energy and sustainable development technologies. The Abu Dhabi government has invested over $10 billion in this project, with Tassabehji playing a key role in formulating and implementing its strategy.
