International Symposium on Sustainable Development Preliminary Program
I. Background of the Symposium
In response to the global sustainable development challenges and to promote the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, to tell the story of ecological civilization in China, and to promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind, the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, in consultation with relevant international and domestic institutions, plans to convene the International Symposium on Everlasting Development in Beijing from October 18 to 20, 2024.

Invited international and domestic political figures, scientists, social scholars, entrepreneurs, and representatives of social organizations to engage in dialogue and exchange for mutual learning, building consensus on topics including sustainable development paradigm and global governance, ecological resilience communities, sustainable agriculture, ecological civilization and philosophy, culture, and education, biodiversity and the Earth's community of life, artificial intelligence and the future of human civilization, etc.

Invited internationally renowned scientists and sustainable development theory experts to discuss breakthroughs in traditional sustainable development theories and methods, and the limitations of current scientific development paradigms. Explore the innovation of the composite system dynamics theory, model construction, and paradigm breakthroughs of the natural environmental system and the socio-economic system. Discuss the construction of new methodologies for sustainable development science driven by new technological revolutions such as artificial intelligence, carry out international cooperation scientific plans for sustainable development, and promote transformative development in the frontier theories and research paradigms of sustainable development science.
V. Scale of the Symposium
The symposium will convene a diverse group of participants, including representatives from United Nations, leaders of national authorities, international and domestic experts and scholars, entrepreneurs, representatives of international organizations, and media representatives from both international and domestic spheres. The anticipated scale of the symposium is approximately 200 attendees, comprising 20 international guests, 15 diplomatic personnel stationed in China, 20 representatives from international organizations in China, 10 international entrepreneurs, 20 leaders from initiating institutions both internationally and domestically, 90 representatives from relevant national departments, universities, research institutes, enterprises, and social organizations, and 30 media representatives from around the world.
