Williamsville Education Foundation Announces New Scholarship Program

The Williamsville Education Foundation, Inc. has established a new scholarship program aimed at supporting graduating seniors from the Williamsville Central School District. According to Jeffrey Katz, president, the Foundation expects to launch new fundraising efforts for the scholarship fund next year and award its first scholarships in June 2021.

“We’re excited to get this scholarship program off the ground,” Katz said. “Our first task is to build awareness about the new program and create a scholarship fundraising campaign.”

The Foundation plans to grant scholarships to students from each of the district’s three high schools. Qualifying criteria and the application process will be established and promoted. The Foundation will work with the high schools to identify scholarship winners.

“The new scholarship program is an extension of our mission, to help ensure that Williamsville students receive the highestquality education,” Katz said. “Even a small scholarship can have a big impact for a college-bound student by easing the burden of out-of-pocket expenses.”
